More Teams announce 2011 drivers

A number of teams have announced information on their driver roster for next season. Most notably Renault-Lotus (don’t get them mixed up with Lotus-Renault!) have decided to give Vitaly Petrov a new contract until the end of the 2012 season, despite some disappointing results in the 2010 season. Petrov did, however, manage to prevent a takeover by Fernando Alonso in the final race of the season in Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina Circuit.
Virgin F1 have awarded their second seat to Belgian racer Jerome D’Ambrosio replacing Lucas Di Grassi. The 25 year-old will partner Timo Glock at Virgin next season after enjoying success in GP2.
Bruno Senna’s F1 career, meanwhile, could be over with him failing to land a seat at Hispania. HRT have instead opted to give Narain Karthikeyan another chance in F1. Karthikeyan drove for Jordan back in 2005, becoming the first ever Indian driver in Formula 1. He will now return for the 2011 season and presumably take part in the inaugral Indian Grand Prix later in the year.
