Button Critical Of Schumacher

Championship leader Jenson Button has surprised F1 fans, with his comments following the Spanish Grand Prix. Button has criticised Michael Schumacher for the way he passed him in to turn 1 after he had a delayed pit stop due to a clutch problem.
“I didn’t really know where Michael was on the outside of me,” said the reigning world champion. “He turned in and if I didn’t back out of it we would have crashed.”
“So he didn’t really give me a lot of room there. There you go, you’d think with his experience he would know. It wasn’t really the right move.”
While no one doubts that overtaking in F1 is tricky it sounds to me as if we have a frustrated World Champion. His team mate Lewis Hamilton was at times half a second faster than him during the early part of the race and after McLaren switched to the hard tyre Hamilton was a full second and at times two seconds faster than Schumacher in the Mercedes, which suggests Button had the pace but couldn’t find a way past.
While I am sure Michael Schumacher is not easiest driver to pass I can’t help thinking that Vettel or Hamilton would have sent one up the inside to turn 1 and disappeared in to the distance.
