McLaren Have Second Wing Package Just In Case…

McLaren have a second package available in Bahrain, should the FIA deem their rear wing to be illegal. McLaren’s managing director Jonathan Neale has stated that he is confident their car will be given the all clear, but they are leaving nothing to chance, so have taken an extra rear wing package to Bahrain.
“We’re not taking a radically different package, but you just never know what the stewards are going to do on the day. We get the best advice we can from the FIA in the interests of transparency. If the stewards decide on a different course of action though it’s still our duty to go racing, so we have a contingency, but I wouldn’t put much effort into it.”
Charlie Whiting was scheduled to meet with McLaren personal last week in Woking to inspect their rear wing before Bahrain but was delayed in Sao Paulo when his flight was cancelled, so the inspection never took place.
